Case Manager I- MS

As a Case Manager I - Enhanced Shelter, you will support the Emergency Shelters team by providing high-quality case management, care, counseling, spiritual leadership, and records management for residents in the recovery program. RESPONSIBILITIES *Meet weekly with the assigned men for a maximum of one-half hour. Conduct crisis management when needed and recommend appropriate treatment or action. Ensure Bridge program residents are meeting their assigned goals as it pertains to their care program and adhering to program policies. *Become an expert in the chosen Mission addiction recovery curriculum. *Develop and maintain professional-quality case management files for assigned men as outlined in the Bridge Program guidelines. *Meet weekly with Bridge Program Administrator to discuss the status of assigned men and any pertinent program information. *Record, report, and maintain required records and statistical information, including input into work therapy schedules and programs. *Maintain an atmosphere in the dormitories that will be most conducive to safety, dignity, and cleanliness. *Use independent judgment regarding program resident discipline, including barring and exiting based on Bridge Program guidelines and Mission policies. *Perform periodic drug screening and locker checks as requested. *Due to the sensitive nature of these job duties, we can only consider males for this position. *Facilitate support groups and conduct daily Bible studies. *Conduct intake interviews with prospective residents for the Bridge Program. *Maintain a positive, pleasant, professional Christian attitude. Work with other staff to forge and model transparent and supportive Christian relationships, which will serve as a Leadership example for program men. *Seattle's Union Gospel Mission accepts and encourages the involvement of volunteers at all levels of the organization. All staff are encouraged to assist in the creation of meaningful and productive roles in which volunteers might serve in the organization. All employees are expected to interact positively and cooperatively with our volunteers. *Uses independent judgment to enter/exit program participants. *Attend and participate in all Mission, Division, and Department meetings and training, as required. *Any other job-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE *A High School Diploma or equivalent is required. An Associate Degree is preferred. A combination of education and two years of relatable experience may be substituted. *One year of experience working in a social services or rescue mission setting *Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time in a temperature-controlled environment. Requires frequent use of computers, keyboarding, and talking on the telephone. Occasionally will stand, balance, twist, bend, stoop, kneel and reach with hands/arms. Regularly lifts up to 20 pounds and walks using stairways to climb multiple floors within the facility. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. PRE-EMPLOYMENT This position is subject to a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
