In Their Words

CN: What is something happening at your mission that you are most grateful for?

My Father's House: We have a very generous community and we have enjoyed some great partnerships. Americold is an underground storage facility and many of their tenants give us food. Last year we received over 300,000 lbs of donations. Items include donuts (from Krispy Kreme), Bison Burgers, Spaghetti and Linguini from Buitoni, White Castle burgers and chicken sliders and more! We have such an abundance, we have been able to bless 20 other ministries in the area!

CN: What is something you are looking forward to and/or praying for?

My Father's House: The Lord has really blessed our Thrift Store, "Treasures on Main." We have some property nearby that we can purchase to build a brand new store. Please pray that we identify the right partners to proceed. Currently, the store generates about 30% of our cash income. With expansion, we believe that their contribution will be over 50%!

CN: In what ways has being a Citygate Network member been a resource to you and your team?

My Father's House: We are privileged to house and feed up to 40 people at a time. We have space for Men, Women and children and we are able to accomplish great ministry with just 5 full-time staff. With such a limited number of staff, we all wear many hats. The training and support we receive from Citygate is so helpful in giving each staff member the tools they need to successfully fulfill our mission to "Help the area's homeless and needy return to self-sufficiency with God's help and the support of the community."
