imageAdvocacy Continues for Charitable Deduction Legislation

Citygate Network colleagues in Washington D.C. met with staffers from Senator James Lankford’s office recently to discuss the possibility of getting the Universal Charitable Deduction (UCD) Act passed this year.

Although the recent upheaval at the top of the Republican party has made it seem less likely a renewed UCD will occur this year, the senator and his team remain committed to pressing forward with continued high energy to get renewed and expanded legislation enacted.

Congressional leaders on both sides of the aisle continue to negotiate with a high priority on a passable year-end tax package. Diligent efforts, including some letters to key state representatives from several Citygate Network members, have led to additional cosponsors in the House and Senate, which can only help.

Consider: What have you communicated to your state representatives about how the UCD legislation impacts your donors?

The 300+ organizations in Citygate Network membership seek to move people in desperate situations and destitute conditions (i.e., hungry, homeless, abused, and addicted) from human suffering to human flourishing through the process of gospel-powered life transformation.
