The Snapshot Survey:
Measuring Faith-Centered Impact
Citygate Network’s annual Snapshot Survey is a point-in-time study that captures the number of individuals served across emergency shelters, supportive services, and addiction recovery programs within our member ministries. This data helps tell the story of Christ-centered, holistic care taking place in communities across the United States—highlighting not only the scope of services provided, but the deeper work of life transformation happening through faith-based ministries.
Beginning in 2026, Citygate Network is partnering with Harvard University’s Human Flourishing Program to further study and communicate the role faith-centered ministries play in addressing homelessness, addiction, mental health challenges, and poverty—ensuring this impact is clearly seen and understood in broader conversations shaping policy, funding, and community response.
In addition to the guest-facing survey, ministries now complete a brief Ministry Snapshot Form that gathers organizational data such as meals served, number of beds, staffing levels, volunteer engagement, and program types. This information provides important context for the survey findings and strengthens the accuracy and credibility of our collective story.
While the Snapshot reflects a single day of reporting from a portion of our 325+ member organizations, when considered across the full year and our entire network, it reveals the extraordinary scale and impact of care made possible through Citygate Network.
