Organization Description
The Rescue Mission is an established and viable community asset with 100 years of service to people who are homeless. Emergency services and programs that help people transform their lives are offered at multiple campuses. A faith-based, residential addiction recovery program is available to families with children as well to unaccompanied men and women. Families reside in furnished apartments in a beautiful state-of-the art facility. An innovative empowerment program helps veterans and other men transition from homelessness to self-sufficiency. Transitional housing with supportive services for families is available in accommodations that range from studio to four bedroom apartments. The Mission's dynamic Youth Program includes a preschool, after-school tutoring, an intensive summer program, mentoring, field trips, and more. Children are encouraged to dream big and to work hard to pursue their dreams. Other Mission programs include the Good Neighbor Cafe hospitality kitchen, adult literacy/GED classes, housing provision with tailored case management, and affordable housing. Community volunteers and interns are highly valued and are essential to providing quality services.
