Organization Description

The Evansville Rescue Mission, founded in 1917 by Dr. Ernest "Pappy" and Edna Reveal, is the oldest and largest ministry of its type in Southwestern Indiana. The Ministry consists of five main components: The Men's Residence Center; The Susan H. Snyder Center for Women and Children; The Youth Care Center; The Leadership and Resource Center; and our Washington Square Mall stores (The Thrift Store, Mission Grounds, The Furniture Warehouse). Serving well-over 300,000 meals each year, the ERM provides a "Community Dining Room" where not only residents, but also members of the community, can enjoy nutritious meals three times each day - every day of the year! Through our primary shelters, the ERM provides over 50,000 nightly bed spaces each year, and also offers "White Flag" and "Red Flag" weather-related emergency shelter options when needed. The ERM is overseen by a 15-member Board of Directors; and is led by its seventh President / CEO, Tracy L. Gorman and his team.
