The Road to Accreditation
The Accreditation process is designed to be clear, supportive, and achievable. Read the steps below to see how your ministry can move toward greater credibility, strengthen systems, and multiply impact.
Step 1: Begin Your Journey
Accreditation starts with a simple step and builds a foundation for success.
Think of this step as laying the groundwork for a partnership in excellence.
- Start with an Inquiry
- Complete the quick form to confirm eligibility, ask questions, and receive your enrollment link.
- Designate Your In-House Accreditation Coordinator
Accreditation is a team journey, but every team needs a leader. Each ministry should appoint an in-house accreditation coordinator—someone who will serve as the main point of contact and champion for the process. Your in-house coordinator will:- Serve as the primary contact with your consultant
- Gather documents and signatures
- Organize the team and keep the process moving
This role could be your CEO/Executive Director or another trusted leader. We encourage involving multiple staff so accreditation becomes a teamwide effort, strengthening ownership across your ministry.
- Complete Enrollment
Fill out the Enrollment/Renewal Form (provided by Citygate Network), include in-house coordinator and CEO information, submit payment, and get paired with your consultant. You’ll receive an introduction email and set up an initial call to review requirements, timelines, and expectations.

Step 3: Work the Process to Completion
Accreditation is clear, supportive, and team-driven.
- Access the Program Portal
Receive login credentials, a Google Drive folder for uploads, and file-naming guidelines to stay organized. - Engage Your Coordinator and Consultant
With your coordinator leading the way and your consultant offering encouragement and feedback, you’ll move steadily toward completion. Engaging your staff in their areas of responsibility makes the process smoother—and strengthens your ministry in the process. - Prepare for the Site Visit (Gold & Platinum)
Consultants visit in person to observe programs, meet leadership, and tour facilities—an opportunity to showcase your strengths, receive practical insights, and celebrate progress. - Final Review & Approval
Once all requirements are met, your consultant submits the final review for approval. You’ll receive accreditation confirmation, a digital trust badge for your website, and recognition at the Annual Conference. - Certificate & Benefits
Accredited ministries receive a framed certificate (mailed or presented on stage) plus exclusive benefits:- Silver: 10% discount on membership renewal for first-time accreditations
- Silver + Gold: $600 in savings
- Gold: Expanded partner perks, including Gallagher Insurance benefits

- Promote Ownership and Engagement
The collaborative nature of the accreditation process encourages involvement from all ministry staff, board members, and volunteers, promoting a greater sense of ownership and a unified vision for the work God is accomplishing through their efforts. - Ensure Accountability to Authorities
Accredited ministries demonstrate compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and ordinances, reducing the risk of legal issues and protecting the ministry’s reputation and tax-exempt status. - Reduce Legal and Liability Risks
The accreditation program provides ministries with a self-monitoring system and safety procedures, which not only reduce exposure to legal and liability problems but also offer discounts on insurance premiums through Citygate Network’s Mission Insurance Program. - Public Recognition
Ministries that complete the accreditation process are awarded a certificate (presented at our Annual Conference, when possible) and are listed as accredited in our online member directory. Accredited ministries may use the Citygate Network Accreditation logo on their literature and websites, associating them with a trusted, esteemed brand.
