Nonprofits Struggle to Set Priorities for 2024
Staffing and donation issues lie at the center of the nonprofit world. In 2023, the lack of resources surpassed donor acquisition as the top concern for the first time. A continued drop in the number of donors has scrambled priorities for nonprofits going into the new year. NonProfit PRO completed the 2023 Nonprofit Leadership Impact Study in November of 2022 and recently provided a number of key takeaways:
- Major gifts (44 percent) have snuck past direct mail fundraising (43 percent) as the top revenue fundraising source.
- Online fundraising and digital communications continue as the top donor engagement strategy, but 78 percent of nonprofits surveyed say that digital fundraising revenue brings in less than half of total fundraising.
- Nonprofts have an ongoing struggle with capturing the correct data to adequately engage donors.
- Many nonprofit leaders have set their 2024 priorities on corporate partnerships, recurring giving, and data-driven decisions.
