Organization Description

Victory Mission began in 1976 when Rev. and Mrs. Everett Cook saw the needs of the homeless in Downtown Springfield. Their initial efforts included the distribution of sandwiches and coffee from the back of their station wagon.

Over the years, the organization has moved beyond outreach to focus on empowerment through intentional programs and emergency shelters. Victory’s Shelter for Men provides a safe space for individuals facing homelessness with the help they need to get back on their feet through recovery programs and job training. Restoration for men and women focuses on long-term discipleship for those ready to reclaim Victory in their lives.

A number of social enterprises helps to create employment opportunities for members of Victory Mission + Ministry’s programs. These ventures not only provide hands-on experience and fair living wages for different individuals, they also allow Victory Mission to become more sustainable as an organization.
