Abuse Recovery Certificate Program Begins March 27 A 13week online certificate program for Citygate Network members conducted by Abuse Recovery Ministry Services (ARMS) will begin March 27. Participants will receive high quality training that meets industry standards in working with victims of abuse and violence using ARMS’ abuse and violence recovery program called Her Journey. Some of the topics covered include: understanding abuse, depression, anger, tools to think God’s way, the power of choices, and learning to dream again. Training begins Wednesday March 27, 9:00 a.m.–10:30 a.m. PST via live Zoom meetings for the first eight weeks with an additional five weeks of online training. The cost will be a discounted rate of $285.00 for Citygate Network members (per individual). Upon completion, participants receive Her Journey facilitator certificates, a facilitator’s man ual to begin leading the course, 10 complete folders for future client participants, as well as ongoing consulting and support from ARMS office. The 2019 DC Forum Takes Place in March Citygate Network is planning a rich experience for members who attend our 2019 DC Forum, March 11–13. Kevin McCarthy (RCA), the minority leader in the U.S. House of Representatives, has confirmed that he’ll be joining us. Also, our first meeting will be held on the floor of the House of Representatives, hosted by Congressman Doug Lamborn (RCO). Accommodations for this year’s DC Forum are at Hyatt Place Washington, D.C./National Mall, with most meetings held at the hotel and the Museum of the Bible. A number of special invited guests will help facilitate our sessions. And as always, the final day will be filled with appointments with lawmakers and/or their staff members in Senate and House office buildings. Ripple Effect Continues with an Event this April Citygate Network’s Ripple Effect board acceleration program is preparing for its first cohort of the year to kick off with an event in the Los Angeles, California, area April 11–12. Our desire, as implied by the name, is that this ninemonth program will grow in concentric circles and wash over all current board members of each participating organization. Moreover, we want the program to provide a permanent framework for board excellence that will strongly influence each organization’s future board members. Don’t Miss Citygate Network’s 2019 Annual Conference The time is getting closer for the event of the year for those who serve on the frontlines of transformative ministry to those who are hungry, homeless, abused, and addicted. Citygate Network’s 2019 Annual Conference and Exposi tion, which will be held June 3–6 in Palm Springs, California, includes inspiring worship, valuable education, fellowship with your peers, tons of networking opportunities, and one of the best speaker lineups we’ve ever put together. Be sure to check out all the activities taking place just prior to the core conference, including the L.A./Skid Row Experience and the Exodus Exhortations early education offerings. Many attendees are extending their stay in southern California to take advantage of these events (not to mention the warm desert weather).
