Men’s Ministry Second Shift Supervisor
4 pm – 12 am

Summary:
This City Mission of Schenectady is a Faith Based organization and seeks to employ an individual for this position who can effectively lead utilizing Biblical principles. The Supervisor has experience with being a change agent for people by helping them interact with both external and internal environments. The Supervisor acts in a multi-faceted capacity that centers on guiding and being a companion to the residents and guests on their journey with The City Mission as well as to ensure that Ministry Associates that report to them are led well spiritually and are equipped to carry out shift duties.

Specific Shift Responsibilities:
• Complete the initial intake of individuals who come or are referred to City Mission seeking shelter
• Provide supervision of residents in dining center during dinner and Community Meal
• Enforce rules and guidelines surrounding curfew and bed check
• Be the main contact for the management of Code Blue nights
• Communicate with the DSS On call system after business hours
General Supervisor Responsibilities:
• Complete Shift Notes and Case Notes
• Schedule employees for Front Desk Coverage (working with Shelter Manager)
• Complete dorm and campus rounds and safety checks
• Attend Shelter Team Meetings and effectively communicate results to team through shift meetings or 1:1’s with employees
• Completion of random drug screening for residents
• Answer and respond to phone calls at the desk and effectively communicate with community organizations and individuals that call
• Oversee timecards of assigned Ministry Associates
• Foster a team spirit and positive environment among the second shift team
Qualifications and Skills:
• Undergraduate degree in Human Services or related field or 1-3 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Work with limited supervision
• Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively (verbal and written) with employees
• Demonstrated ability to track progress and maintain client contact
• Working knowledge of other community and human services/programs
• Ability to write accurate and concise case notes
• Ability to learn and utilize Client Data System for client tracking
• Ability to work with and be sensitive to people from diverse backgrounds
• Ability to comply with policies and procedures at the City Mission (per employee handbook)
