Summary:

This person is expected to acknowledge and uphold the City Mission’s Statement of Faith. The Director of the FLC is responsible for the successful management and operation of the shelter and programs; maintains daily operational functions; coordinates crisis intervention and emergency responses for staff; attains familiarity and proficiency in all duties and responsibilities related to the residential department and programs; and all other duties as outlined in the job description. This person reports to the AED Campus Operations.



Specific Responsibilities:

Operate within the mission and vision of City Mission

Motivate, encourage, guide and assist in the growth and development of Ministry Directors; facilitate discipleship with direct reports

Monitor the Spiritual climate across City Mission ministries: monitor the prevailing spiritual conditions that affect the ease or difficulty with which the Lord’s work may be done

Become well versed in each ministry of responsibility; effectively fill in as needed

Effectively forecast and oversee the provision of needs for seasonal realities; extreme weather and holidays

Assess emergency situations and respond effectively

Serve as a presence at City Mission events; effectively represent City Mission at off campus partner events when needed

Ability to assist in the development of the annual budget as it applies to ministries within the scope of responsibility; adhere to approved budget



Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor degree in social welfare, counseling, hospitality, or related field strongly preferred.

Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with the capacity to manage diverse/challenging tasks and competing priorities

Desire for excellence, highly organized

Trustworthy; high level of integrity

Creative & flexible; able to thrive in a dynamic, ever-changing environment

Experience working with a culturally diverse population; sensitive to the needs and challenges of under-resourced individuals

Valid NYS driver’s license

Time Commitment: 40 hours per week
