Senior Major Gifts Officer

As a Senior Major Gifts Officer, you will be responsible for developing, engaging, and deepening relationships with major donors and prospects, identifying prospects for major gifts and developing them into major donors. Emphasis is placed upon personal contact with donors through engagement points such as visits, tours, events, phone calls, email, and personal correspondence.
Responsibilities:
Manage a portfolio of 150-200 donors and prospects who have the capacity to make multi-year commitments of five to six-figure gifts, including: Through proactively reaching and caring for new and existing major donors, with an emphasis on heavy 2-way engagement and interaction. Lead the organization in an annual million-dollar ask. Make 3 to 5 $100,000+ asks annually based on donor capacity and interest. Intentionally prospect principal-level relationships that have a mission match but have not given to the Mission. Develop positive and professional relationships with lapsed donors to reactivate them at the major donor level. Develop individual development strategies for each donor and prospect in the major portfolio. Develop positive and professional relationships with new and current mid and major donors to become prospects for principal gifts. Conduct solicitations on behalf of the Mission through building relationships with donors. Provide reports to donors regarding the Missions programs. Meet annual revenue goals for your portfolio, as established by the Director of Principal Giving. Develop growth maximization and implementation strategies for current donors. Implement unique and timely gift-ask opportunities that support and enhance the donor's partnership and relationship with the Mission. Keep complete and accurate records and produce reports on donor strategies and activities, including: Early prospect outreach, identification of new prospects, growth in cumulative giving, dollars raised, donors secured, and handoffs conducted. Track donor activity in the database. Track and report fundraising metrics to the Director of Principal Giving. Seek to increase the level of donor giving each year, ensuring proper stewardship and recognition of donors. Represent the Mission when called upon. In addition, professionally articulate the Mission's vision and values verbally and in writing to prospects and current donors. Increase personal knowledge of the fundraising profession. Attend and participate in all Mission, Division, and Department meetings and training, as required. Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor. Qualifications BA/BS degree or equivalent years of experience required. 5+ Development/fundraising experience required. Minimum of 3 years of major gift experience required. Possess a valid Washington State Driver's License and be able to meet the standards of the Mission driver criteria required, including but not limited to: Clean driving record No current suspensions or revocations At least 21 years of age

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk or sit for extended periods of time; bend, stoop or reach. Occasionally will stand, balance, twist, stoop, kneel and reach with hands/arms. Regularly lifts up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
