Behavioral Health Counselor

The Behavioral Health Counselor, will counsel guests individually and in group sessions to assist in overcoming impediments and making changes that will assist in their recovery from homelessness, addiction and broken relationships. In addition, this position will maintain confidentiality of client information and records related to treatment and will guide guests in developing healthy coping skills to better deal with stressors in their lives, using industry accepted treatment modalities (ex: CBT, DBT, EMDR, TRM).
This role is open to Counselors/Therapists who are fully licensed in their respective area (ex: LMHC, LMFT, LICSW) and those licensed as an associate level clinician, meaning you have completed your master’s program, already obtained your associate license through the Washington State Department of Health (DOH) and are ready to gain clinically supervised hours in accordance with your licensure track.
Schedule
Monday-Friday 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM
Responsibilities
Conduct individual counseling for mental health issues, addiction, Christian direction, and domestic violence issues. Advocate for and support program participants through intakes, referrals, safety planning, educational classes, individual advocacy-based counseling, and groups. Attend wrap, focus, and staff meetings as scheduled Maintain confidential client files. Meet with on-site program directoras necessary and clinical supervisor weekly. Attend training as assigned by supervisor. Be willing to be trained, and use Lifespan Integration,evidence based practice therapy models for trauma resolution, and/or other promising models. Participate in the Grace-based philosophy of ministry and the self-evaluation process. Attend and participate in all Mission, Division, and Department meetings and training, as required. Teach classes to assist guests to understand cycles of abuse, addiction, and other classes as assigned by the supervisor. Any other job-related duties as assigned by the supervisor. Qualifications Master's degree or above in Counseling or a related field is required LMHC or related license is required 4+ years of experience in a professional counseling setting providing mental health and substance use disorders is highly preferred. Experience in social service organizations preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk or sit for extended periods of time; bend, stoop or reach. Occasionally will stand, balance, twist, stoop, kneel and reach with hands/arms. Regularly lifts up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
