Rescue Mission Alliance is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Director of Accounting and Finance. This is a key leadership role reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer. This role is responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations of our company, spearheading quarterly budget reviews and the annual budgeting process. The ideal candidate will have finance and banking experience, be an expert in financial analysis and forecasting, specifically in Excel, building models and financial reporting. This is a full-time, exempt position located at our corporate office in Oxnard, CA.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide leadership and oversight over the company’s accounting infrastructure, including budgeting, accounting, tax, financial reporting, processes, and policies to adhere to accounting standards for accurate reporting.
• Support the CEO in corporate growth and financial initiatives.
• Lead, manage and mentor a strong accounting team that is an effective business partner to key business areas.
• Provide financial guidance and support to the board of directors and other stakeholders.
• Conduct financial analysis and develop reports that provide insight into the financial health and performance of the organization.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements.
• Oversee and manage relationships with 3rd party vendors including banks, finance, and legal.
• Review and analyze monthly balance sheet and P&L for completeness, accuracy, and that meet General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) compliance regulations.
• Complete the year-end audit process. Review and approve all reconciliations and audit work papers.
• Define, track, and report KPls and financial metrics to evaluate and benchmark performance.
• Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, cost of sales, expenses, and capital expenditures.
• Implement and work with a Business Intelligence Tool and Dashboard reports.
• Ensure that cash/accrual basis books are properly maintained in accordance with the most current FASB, GAAP, and ECFA guidelines, maintaing the highest ethical standards.
• Maintain current and accurate General Ledgers for multiple business units.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements.
• Lead in the annual audit process and assist, as needed, with all related communications.
• Oversee and monitor cash management functions, daily borrowing requirement and short-term cash projections.
• Ensure all debt, property tax, sales tax calculations and reports are prepared, filed, and payments are made in a timely manner and internal databases are updated and maintained.
• Proactively communicates with Executive Management to ensure they are informed of all activities.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position is responsible directly for overseeing the Controller and Accounting Team.

Other Duties & Responsibilities
• Promote RMA Safety Program in alignment with the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) and model safe work practices.
• Participate in other activities, programs/teams to support the greater purposes of RMA.


Qualifications
• A solid Bible based Christian faith, compatible with RMA’s Statement of Faith and an active member of an Evangelical church.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, forecasting, and/or budgeting in complex business environments.
• BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word, financial modeling, and analytical skills.
• Strong proficiency in financial analysis, forecasting, and budget development, with a proven ability to make data-driven financial recommendations.
• A background in non-profit industries and grant management preferred.
• Knowledge of Intacct accounting software and Mineral Tree a plus.
• Strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to balance a large group of diverse projects simultaneously.
• Proven ability to translate broad goals and strategies into specific activities and initiatives that increase contributed revenue.
• Effective leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to effectively motivate and supervise a team.
