Program Manager for Women's Services
Organization The Rescue Mission Alliance (RMA) is a Christian non-profit organization that has been serving the less fortunate in Southern California through emergency and long-term rehabilitation services since 1972. RMA partners with local churches to meet the spiritual needs of the people we serve. Rescue Mission Alliance Central Coast is an outreach of the Rescue Mission Alliance (RMA), which operates three phase Recovery Programs for men and women in Santa Maria, CA.
Summary The Program Manager (PM) is a strong leader who is skilled in addiction recovery from a ministry perspective, thrives in a dynamic environment, and is comfortable interacting with the public. The PM is responsible for developing a sustainable and effective program and supporting ministries for Rescue Mission Alliance Central Coast, as it relates to program. Ministries presently include a 6-bed women's residential program. PM must be an excellent strategist who knows how to plan for and achieve outcomes and be able to adjust using data. The PM is responsible for expanding and facilitating all aspects of client assessment, including mental health, trauma, personality, spirituality, and career. The PM is an expert in addiction recovery curriculum the Genesis Process. Ensure collaboration with local churches, agencies, school districts and government boards to affect an integrated program capable of meeting the felt needs within the community. This is a full-time exempt ministry position reporting to the Rescue Mission Alliance, Central Coast Director. Compensation is commensurate with skills and experience and includes benefits.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities - Supervise all staff at Rescue Mission Alliance, Central Coast Women's Life Recovery Program. - Working in conjunction with Director, develop and sustain a strong phased recovery program with curriculum consistent with Rescue Mission Alliance, Central Coast theory of change. - Responsible for prescribing, scheduling, and tracking program progress for every program client in weekly 1on1s. - Responsible for program recruitment and intake. - Responsible for coordinating with outside agencies like Probation and Public Defender Office, local churches, Allan Hancock College, Medical providers, etc with assistance from Community Relations Coordinator (CRC). - Run individual and group counseling, setting clear timelines and goals for each program participant. - Responsible for pastoral care and discipleship of program clients. - Responsible for cultivating and maintaining class curriculum that includes Bible study, life skills and relapse prevention. - Responsible for developing a comprehensive set of assessments for clients that would create a road map for recovery, including mental health, trauma, vocational training (in cooperation with the Vocational Training Coordinator), and addiction. - Creates and manages complex systems for capturing relevant data for the purpose of measuring client outcomes. - Maintain relationship with assigned group of donors, expressing gratitude and inviting them to participate in deeper ways with Rescue Mission Alliance, Central Coast activities. - Ensures that case notes, journals, and statistics are up to date.
Other Duties & Responsibilities - Ensures that Rescue Mission Alliance, Central Coast overall environment and culture is a safe one, in which a member can find meaningful recovery. - Cultivates an attitude of safety following RMA safety program by ensuring compliance, modeling safe work practices, providing safety training. - Run weekly Program Meeting to update staff on client progress. - Collaborates with Operations Coordinator on maintaining mission vehicles and facilities. - Special Projects as assigned by Director for Program. - Promote/Train Rescue Mission Alliances Vision/Values. - Model and foster servant leadership and Lead Like Jesus leadership principles.
Supervisory Responsibilities - Supervise Counselor and shelter staff at Rescue Mission Alliance, Central Coast | Lake Marie. - Responsible for recruiting, development, training, and performance evaluation of direct report staff, providing feedback on strengths and development needs.
Qualifications - Solid Bible-based Christian faith, compatible with RMAs Statement of Faith and an active member of an Evangelical church - Must have compatible theology with Rescue Mission Alliance core values and Statement of Faith - Bachelor degree in Ministry, Social work, Christian Counseling, or similar plus five years ministry, supervisory and non-profit experience. - Must be able to provide a balanced approach to treatment for addiction and other life-controlling issues from a Biblical and pragmatic approach. - Valid California drivers license and insurable under Rescue Mission Alliance.
Skills - Must have excellent communication skills, utilized both in public as well as in a hectic and fractured work environment where staff typically work outside of typical business hours. - Spanish-speaking is strongly preferred. - Must have high comfort with computers and software. - Passionate and skilled in relational ministry - Self-motivated, must be able to keep goals in front every day and at the same time find necessary rest to keep up with the demands of the job. - A learner, leaders are readers. PM will study relevant works in the areas of recovery, discipleship, leadership, and management. The Director and Manager will discuss these works; mission will provide library funds. - Support vision of Mission to train leaders, honor the poor, and engage volunteers.

Physical Demands Must be able to lift 60 pounds, stand on feet for long periods of time, and climb stairs.
Equipment Basic office equipment, such as computers, copiers, and printers. Cars, vans, and light trucks.
Work Environment This position will function to a large degree in an office environment. As a part of normal duties this position will also be in facilities with an at-risk population where errant behavior and disease risk may be present.
