Position: Advancement Services Assistant
Department: Part-time, Non- exempt
L&I: B-1 6103-4
Wage Range: $19.85 to $23 per hour

Position Description: The Advancement Services Assistant of Lighthouse Mission Ministries (LMM) is responsible for caring for donor’s needs through thoughtful communication and maintaining accurate donor and gift records. They also assist the Advancement Department through preparing donor receipts and letters, processing donations, and producing reports.

Responsibilities:
Verify accuracy of all gifts entered into the donor database.
Post gifts to the general ledger and daily batch log.
Work with accounting to ensure donation income is accurately recorded.
Prepare and print donor receipts and letters.
Track stationary inventory.
Track and record all gift-in-kind donations.
Check obituaries for supporters who have passed away and send condolences.
Pick up, sort, and distribute mail and donations incoming to LMM as needed.
Contact donors to thank them for their support, answer questions, resolve inconsistencies, and fill in missing data related to donations and receipts.
Perform data entry and mine data as requested.
Keep careful track of received gifts and source documents. Copy, file, and route these documents.
Make necessary corrections to database information and document corrections.
Performs other miscellaneous tasks relating to record maintenance, updates to donor information, and proofreading.
Attends and contributes to weekly department meetings.
Assists in special projects within the Advancement Department including attending events.
Participate in prayer and Christian devotionals in the group setting.
Oversee, encourage, and train volunteers when necessary.
Other duties as assigned.


Organizational Relationships:
Reports directly to the Chief Advancement Officer
Works closely with Advancement Services Coordinator and Director of Annual Giving
Works alongside the Advancement Team, volunteers, and interns.
Represents LMM and the Advancement team to supporters, volunteers, and the general public.

Qualifications: 1 year previous experience in data entry, accounts receivable, donor relations, or similar office environments or another combination of knowledge, skills, and experience that demonstrate the ability to fulfill all aspects of the job description.

Refined organizational skills and a keen attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to interact effectively by phone.
Proficient user of Microsoft Office and Google Suites and ability to work within organization’s databases.
Able to use judgment to make independent decisions. High boundary setting and self-reflection skills preferred.
Ability to interact effectively as a team member and independently with LMM staff and with a diverse client base.
Effective interpersonal communication skills for communication with co-workers, supporters, and the public.
A passion for serving Jesus and making the Gospel known through mercy ministry. The successful candidate will have an active church/prayer life. Participate in prayer and Christian devotionals in the group setting. Have knowledge of and preferably experience with issues of homelessness, poverty, addiction, domestic violence and recovery.
Ability to report as regularly scheduled to work site.
Ability to successfully pass pre-employment drug and criminal background screenings.
Agreement with the Lighthouse Mission’s Statement of Faith and Lifestyle Commitment.

Medium to heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs) as needed to assist with donations and/or special events.
