Director of Development

The Director of Development is responsible for directing the development and acquisition of financial, material and human (volunteer) resources needed to operate the ministries of the City Rescue Mission.

Essential Job Functions:
-Oversee the day to day operations of the Development Ministry.
-Develop and implement yearly fundraising plan, including direct mail and telemarketing plans for cultivation of existing donors, acquisition of new donors and re-engagement of existing donors.
-Establish and supervise a solicitation/communication strategy for in-kind gifts, including in-kinds drives for coffee, hygiene products, school supplies and food.
-Edits and approves all donor communication materials including newsletters, direct mail solicitation, brochures, website copy, donor correspondence letters, postcards, receipt language, etc.
-Analyze donor responses to continually evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns to develop future mail and solicitation strategies. Extracts mailing and call lists as needed.
-Establish policies and procedures for volunteer selection and retention as well as supervise volunteer activities. Oversee completion of paperwork and prepare monthly volunteer reports.
-Approve, oversee and direct all public relation, marketing and promotional activities including: press releases, social media posts, open houses, advertisements, video production, speaking engagements, etc.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
-Bachelors Degree in Business (required), Master Degree or CFRE Certification preferred.
-5plus years professional fundraising experience, preferably in Christian ministry.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate in a concise and persuasive manner.
-Demonstrated excellence in organizational, managerial and financial analysis skills.
-Ability to prioritize and make decisions. Must be able to work on multiple projects all at the same time
-Data management experience utilizing a relational database system. Upholds and promotes City Rescue Mission's values of spirituality, grace and compassion.
-Agree to uphold the Mission's statement of faith and honor the standards outlined in the Employee Handbook and the Code of Conduct.
