Intake Support Associate I FT

As the Intake Support Associate, you will support the assessment and intake processes for Enhanced Shelter, Bridge, Bridge Plus, LINK, the Extended Care Program, and Outreach in Emergency Shelters by providing high-quality intake coordination, spiritual leadership, and management for individuals seeking a recovery program or a pathway out of homelessness. Work with a staff team to help create a safe, healing environment for faith-based emergency programs that assist women and children on their journey to healthy relationships and independent living.

SCHEDULE

Tuesday through Saturday 12:00 pm to 8:30 pm

RESPONSIBILITIES

*Coordinate all aspects of the intake process, including inquiry calls, phone screens, COVID testing, and quarantine scheduling and coordination and intake to the appropriate program.
*Assess the applicant's ability to live independently and evaluate special needs in health care, mental health, and addiction.
*Responsible for admission decisions in coordination with management.
*Identify inefficient/ineffective processes and implement improvements.
*Meet weekly with the supervisor to discuss the status of women and children in the intake process and any pertinent program information.
*Record, report, and maintain required pre-intake screening tools and statistical information into Clarity.
*Maintain an atmosphere in all intake spaces including quarantine that will be most conducive to safety, dignity, and cleanliness.
*Directly coordinate with mission programs, including outreach, S & R, WCM, and outside agencies that serve homeless women and children seeking shelter and programs.
*Responsible for maintaining 80% bed capacity at KentHOPE Emergency Shelter.
*Will develop and maintain relationships with providers to offer needed services to guests.
*Use independent judgment regarding program resident discipline, including barring and exiting based on Bridge, Bridge Plus, ECP, and LINK *Program guidelines and Mission policies.
*Perform drug screening for women when appropriate for the program upon intake.
*Maintain a positive, pleasant, professional Christian attitude. Work with other staff to forge and model transparent and supportive Christian relationships, which will serve as a Leadership example for program men.
*Seattle's Union Gospel Mission accepts and encourages the involvement of volunteers at all levels in the organization. *Uses independent judgment to enter/exit program participants.
*As required, attend and participate in all Mission, Division, and Department meetings and training.
*Ability to become a mission-approved driver and drive potential intakes to COVID testing and drive program guests to appointments and other tasks as assigned.
*Any other job-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

*A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
*One year customer service experience required.
*One year of working in a social services environment required

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time in a temperature-controlled environment. Requires frequent use of computers, keyboarding, and talking on the telephone. Occasionally will stand, balance, twist, bend, stoop, kneel and reach with hands/arms. Regularly lifts up to 20 pounds and walks using stairways to climb to multiple floors within the facility. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

This position is subject to a pre-employment background check and drug screening.

COVID 19 PROTOCOL

Per King County, we require that everyone wear a mask while at any Mission facility (unless eating or drinking), practice social distancing and temperature checks are required prior to entering any facility.

Per Governor Inslee's Proclamation 21-14.1, employees at Seattle Union Gospel Mission for the following locations: KentHope, Hope Place, and Dental must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, unless a medical or religious exemption is approved. Being fully vaccinated means that an individual is at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. As a condition of employment, newly hired employees will be required to provide proof of their COVID-19 vaccination or be approved for a medical or religious exemption prior to being allowed to work.
