Reporting to the VP of Finance & Operations, the Controller will ensure financial integrity and monitor and maintain compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and applicable laws and regulations affecting the financial activities of the Bay Area Rescue Mission. The Controller will lead all day-to-day finance operations supporting an expense budget of $7.5 million and hold functional responsibility for accounting, external audit and tax return support, donation processing, expense management, and payroll. The Controller will develop and maintain systems and procedures to support financial and compliance audits and will ensure organizational compliance with grant awards and donor intent.

The right candidate will be an have a minimum of 3+ years with an increasing amount of responsibility of related accounting/financial experience, a minimum of 2+ years of supervision experience and will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field. A related Master’s degree or CPA credential strongly preferred. Must be a mature Christian professional who is able and willing to uphold and embrace the core values of the Mission and to actively engage to facilitate us fulfilling our purpose. Seeking a professional who has extensive and comprehensive knowledge and application of standard accounting functions, who is extremely accurate and detail oriented, able to effectively collaborate with and encourage others resulting in attainment of goals and fulfillment of responsibilities.
