The DC Forum

Citygate Network has been doing a DC Forum for the past eight years—and none have been more important to attend than this one. There are several reasons for this, like new appointments to key positions, a change in direction for some major government programs, a few brand-new proposals, and an upcoming national election.

Our DC Forum will start with dinner on Monday night, March 9. Following will be two key presentations to set the course of our time together. The next day will include multiple meetings in different locations, all addressing topics of importance to residential life-transformation ministries. The final day will be spent on Capitol Hill in the offices of Senate and House lawmakers, earnestly conveying our appreciation and/or concerns regarding certain bills and initiatives. This event will be eye-opening and invigorating for anyone attending.

Speaking of attending, the DC Forum is open to CEOs, COOs, government relations or public relations staff, and any others who are engaged in or captivated by the dealings of government. The first person from a member organization pays full price ($395). Additional staff from the same member organization can then attend at a discount ($374).

Hotel and Meeting Venue

Our headquarters hotel is the Holiday Inn Washington—Capitol, a couple of blocks off the National Mall and close to Capitol Hill, HUD, the Museum of the Bible, and other important offices. Our specially-priced room block at the Holiday Inn Washington—Capitol has been filled. Rooms may still be available at this venue for a higher price or at one of two Hyatt Place hotels nearby.

Transportation

If you are flying to Washington, D.C., try to make Ronald Reagan National Airport (DCA) your arrival destination as it is relatively close to the government sector where we will be spending most of our time. While Dulles International Airport (IAD) is significantly larger, it is approximately 30 miles from Capitol Hill and can take a long time to travel from or to during "rush hour." Also, we do NOT recommend renting a car for this event. Parking is hard to find and extremely expensive in the areas where we will be staying and working. Taxis are abundant and Uber and Lyft cars are never more than a couple of minutes away. Plus, as previously mentioned, our hotel is within comfortable walking distance of Capitol Hill.
