Government Relations

Citygate Network provides you a wide array of valuable services, including policy representation in Washington, D.C. The goal is to help Citygate Network members navigate the complex environment in our nation’s capitol and implement Citygate Networks’s long-term public policy agenda.

We equip our members to engage elected officials, congressional staff, and other decision makers through various education and advocacy opportunities, including webinars about priority topics, regular legislative and policy updates, and assistance with direct advocacy between rescue missions and key decision makers in Washington, D.C.

A key gathering, Citygate Networks’s DC Forum, occurs each year in March. At this event, participants explore the issues that are pressing in the hardest on religious, nonprofit ministries—particularly those working in the areas of social justice whose programs overlap with government services. The DC Forum connects those attending to lawmakers, aids, agency heads, strategists, lobbyists, and more.

Citygate Network encourages every member mission to send a representative to the annual DC Forum, especially younger staff members involved with government relations, public relations, fund development, and program oversight. For more information, check the Events page or contact Meetings and Events Manager Lisa Miller.

It is more important now than ever that rescue missions engage our federal government as decision makers in Washington, D.C., consider public policies with serious consequences for all rescue missions and the men, women, and families you serve.
