Outrageous Behavior
with Ed Stetzer
So many people are totally fed up with COVID issues, political correctness, controversial legislation, and the assorted problems of everyday life. It shows up in their outlook and attitude. A simple scan of social media provides quick confirmation. You are probably seeing it in the people around you (or maybe they are seeing it in you). Unfortunately, it’s becoming the norm. This brutally honest opening session with Ed Stetzer—author of Christians in the Age of Outrage—will lay the groundwork for other discussions that we will have over the next couple of days. Count on some open and honest dialogue about the messages of peace and completion in Christ that we must share going forward, and just how we might do that.

4:15 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Since I Last Saw You…
This is an opportunity for attendees to briefly talk about what has transpired in their lives and ministries over the past 20 or so months, the one big thing they are working on, and what they will be praying for in the days immediately ahead. NOTE: Reports will be limited to three minutes. We’ll hear from five CEOs each time we do this.

4:35 p.m. – 4:55 p.m.

Small Group Grappling
We’ll break into several clusters to talk about what we heard in the Ed Stetzer session and how it’s affecting us and those around us.

5:10 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

6:10 p.m. – 6:50 p.m.

Ed will be back with us to speak into the report-backs from our small group conversations.

Use the walking-jogging path along the bay, or the pool area, or another location to talk to whomever about whatever is on your mind.

Angie is one of the most knowledgeable HR specialists out there and has just helped a rescue mission through a difficult succession. Hear a firsthand account and some key insights.

Found Money
with Brian Walsh
Many of the people you are serving are missing out on money that is available in the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and the Child Tax Credit (CTC). Most just don’t know or are afraid to investigate. It’s not complicated. Here’s how you can give them a boost that will move them further down the road to self-sufficiency.

We’re heading over to Elm Street—on the hill above Little Italy—to take a look at the wonderful work going on in San Diego’s downtown. After a tour of their two facilities in that location, plus some important introductions, we’ll have a special dinner, provided by the mission. You can go back to Shelter Island with us or go hang out for a while in Little Italy and grab an Uber back to the hotel.

What your Development Director Wishes You Knew
with Michelle Smith
Development is the engine room or operations for any mission or similar ministry. Too many times, CEOs are on the bridge barking orders to win important battles and constantly calling down to the engine room for more power. Maybe that’s one of the reasons that development directors are the most likely staff to burn out (according to our 2020 survey) and the position most posted in our Recruiting Center. One of our most creative and mission-passionate development directors will share some things that you might not hear from those on your own team. You’ll love the Q&A that will follow this session.
