WHEREAS, census data is a critical tool to help senators and congressional representatives make informed decisions;
WHEREAS, census data affects the distribution of more than $675 billion in federal funding annually;
WHEREAS, census data determines infrastructure planning for SNAP, education, Section 8 funding, women and children's health insurance, temporary assistance for needy families, healthcare, social service funding, and so much more that is important to so many of the people our members serve;
THEREFORE, be it resolved that Citygate Network encourages all members to participate in the Faith Communities Census Weekend of Action, March 27-29, 2020, and be a special “count center” for the most vulnerable and under-counted segment of the population so that everyone our members serve is counted and is able to receive the maximum amount of community federal investment dollars.
