Colorado Springs, Colo. (October 29, 2010) –
The Association of Gospel Rescue Missions (AGRM) and Denver Mattress
Company have joined forces for an online matching donation campaign to
provide much-needed help for families in need.
“With the changing seasons and lower temperatures come a significant
increase in people’s need for hearty food, warm clothing and safe
shelter,” said AGRM President John Ashmen, adding that some 275
AGRM-member rescue missions across the United States are expected to
provide about 500,000 meals this Thanksgiving.
The donation campaign will run through Nov. 30. Banner advertisements on
numerous websites link to www.denvermattresshelps.com/index.php, where
donors can select a rescue mission they want to support. For each
participating rescue mission, Denver Mattress Company will match, dollar
for dollar, all funds donated through the website, up to $2,500.
“This campaign will enable rescue missions to better serve not only
homeless people but also individuals and families struggling to make
ends meet in these tough economic times,” Ashmen said. “We are extremely
grateful to our friends at Denver Mattress Factory and for their
concern and compassion for those desperately in need. And we’re thankful
for all those who generously give to rescue missions. Especially during
this campaign, any amount will make a difference.”
This is the second year Denver Mattress Company has sponsored this
campaign. Last year, donations and the company’s matching funds provided
more than $200,000 for rescue missions nationwide.
