Every year thousands of people are being sexually exploited in the United States. What does sex trafficking look like in America? Who are the most vulnerable? This course will deepen your knowledge on risk factors, vulnerabilities and health concerns that affect trafficking victims. The tactics of the traffickers that prey on these individuals will also be discussed. Understanding the mindset of the victim and trafficker better equips groups to develop appropriate response protocols for the safest outcome.

Linda BlackistonLinda Blackiston

Passionate about changing lives through education, Linda Blackiston specializes in raising awareness about various forms of abuse and neglect. For nearly a decade, Linda served on the Board of Directors and as a volunteer for The Samaritan Women. Because of her direct involvement with survivors, Linda was invited to contribute to curriculum development on human trafficking for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Service. In her previous professional capacity, she served as Mid-Atlantic Manager of Professional Education for Philips North America, developing and delivering training for dental professionals.
