Vice President of Programs

The San Diego Rescue Mission is built on beliefs that speak to the heart. We believe this is more than a job, that it's a calling to love our neighbors and those in need the way that Jesus would. In our programs, we create a holistic approach to recovery and rehabilitation while ensuring that our building is a safe haven for men, women and children who have experienced homelessness.

The ideal candidate for our VP of Programs position has significant experience leading in a context that addresses the complexities and challenges of serving people who have experienced significant trauma. This person draws energy from the work of implementing best practices for helping men, women, and children recover from experiencing homelessness and/or addiction. The candidate must demonstrate a vibrant Christian (Trinitarian) faith, a clinical understanding of - or sensitivity to clinical relevance for the population we serve. The ideal candidate will thrive on the challenge of navigating interdepartmental collaborative efforts, serving as a member of the Leadership Team and a leader for the Program Directors while also interfacing with myriad other roles. Problem solving, consensus-building, strategic innovation, and community collaboration are cornerstones of this role. Vision, detail, follow through, and communication are elemental to success.
