VP of Adult Ministries

Summary / Purpose of Position: The VP of Adult Ministries is responsible for providing overall leadership to the Adult Ministries and their related programs. This includes shelter services, addiction recovery programs, transitional housing, and Miracle Hill’s food ministry. Serves as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provides vision and leadership in defining ministry scope and in achieving desired outcomes.
• Develops and deploys the Annual Strategic Initiatives for Adult Ministries.
• Aligns programs, services, and resources with the mission and desired results of the organization.
• Leads in setting a spiritual climate for Adult Ministries by both program and personal example.
• Ensures the safety, security, and wellbeing of guests, volunteers, and staff while in ministry facilities and vehicles.
• Equips and empowers others while building an effective ministry team.
• Effectively leads, coaches, and mentors others while holding them accountable for desired results.
• Ensures the gathering, analyzing, and reporting of relevant data concerning delivery and effectiveness of services.
• Champions continual improvement and supports and adapts well to change.
• Builds effective relationships to facilitate good communication among staff and with external resources.
• Cultivates community partnerships to promote collaborative efforts and for public relations and support.
• Works with the Development Dept. to recruit, cultivate and enhance Donor relationships and volunteers.
• Ensures timely effective performance management and coaching occurs for all Adult Ministries staff.
• Ensures proper maintenance, housekeeping and appearance is achieved for all Adult Ministry facilities and transitional housing.
• Maintains all Adult Ministry Facilities to City Gate Network certification standards at Certified Excellent level.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Provide development and supervision of adult ministry personnel
• Maintain the physical plant:
• Ensuring proper housekeeping and appearance is achieved for all Adult Ministry facilities and transitional housing.
• Cooperate with Maintenance – reporting major items to head of maintenance; minor maintenance, painting, and lawns & landscaping are the responsibility of facility staff.
• Education or equivalent experience: Master’s degree in related field with 5 years related
ministry experience; or Bachelor’s degree in related field and 10 years of related ministry
experience or an equivalent combination of other background and experience.
• License/Certification: Valid SC Driver’s License with clean record.
• Be Christian by biblical definition, with faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as expressed by a personal testimony and continued Christian conduct
• Agree without reservation with the doctrinal statement of the ministry
• Be an active participant in a protestant church
• Exhibit a genuine concern for the salvation of souls and spiritual welfare of all served by the
• Demonstrate spiritual maturity commensurate with the requirements of your position
