Job Summary:
Responsible for all Career Learning Center operations and the supervision of tutors, volunteers and program participants assigned to this respective area.


Duties:
1. Responsible for initial assessments to determine the custom-made curriculum of each individual student.

2. Facilitate departmental improvements through the creation of a positive work environment, analyzing program needs, and development of program goals and action plans.

3. Responsible for administration and student file set up.

4. Responsible for weekly updating of stars reward system progress report.

5. Creates, prints, collates, and continuously updates student instruction worksheets and workbooks.

6. Responsible for student evaluations.

7. Responsible for closing records, statistics, and workbooks on every student, including dropouts.

8. Meets with Case Manager and/or other staff as needed regarding student development and possible problems.

9. Responsible for reporting possible funding opportunities to OURM Development Department, preparing grant updates and maintaining statistics for NOVA and the Board of Education as needed.

10. Tracks weekly class activity for Mission Leadership including; but not limited to, women, men, ages, tutoring, and hours.

11. Oversees NOVA Memory Retention Course and functions related to this course, including progress testing.

12. Teaches essays and extensive writing of testimonies/tracts.

13. Teaches decimals, fractions and other math concepts to students.

14. Instructs students on Microsoft Word Processing programs related to the NOVA academic system.

15. Teaches resume preparation.

16. Teaches and enforces life skills daily; including but not limited to, self-discipline, accountability, respect for authority, and cooperation.

17. Coordinates with Board of Education and Pearson, regarding procedures, testing, and vouchers.

18. Process H.S. exams and financial payments for Mid-Fla Tech final testing.

19. Tests students at check points for readiness, including a minimum of 10 practice exams per student as required by the Board of Education.

20. Upgrades NOVA software at least once annually and/or as needed.

21. Recruits professionals from within community to tutor high school math disciplines.

22. Coordinates NOVA cap and gown graduation ceremony in conjunction with Director of Guest Services.

23. Acts as a liaison for establishing and maintaining mutual understanding of student goals.

24. Troubleshoot printer/terminal problems in the ALC & CLC.

25. Coordinates ongoing technical support for computer software/hardware malfunctions.

26. Advises guests concerning scholarship opportunities for further education.

27. Responsible for daily classroom mentoring and instruction.

28. Attends appropriate meetings and in-service training sessions as requested.

29. Performs other related duties as requested.

Job Requirements:
At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from a regionally accredited college or university. NOVA software or other areas of study may be considered in conjunction with related background and experience.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of classified information.
Ability to communicate with employees, program participants and other business contacts in a courteous and professional manner.
Flexibility and the ability to multi-task; while being also resourceful in setting priorities and building capacity.
Commitment to and enthusiasm for the organization’s mission, business model and respect for OURM’s core values.
Must adhere to OURM Policies/Procedures and Doctrinal Statement as outlined.
The ability to adapt to organizational innovation and corresponding changes that enhance the quality of resident support.
Practical computer knowledge and application (word, Outlook, internet, etc.)
Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from staff, residents, volunteers, and the general public.
Math Ability: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
The ability to form positive relationships with residents that have different cultural backgrounds.
Valid driver’s license
The ability to respond quickly to emergencies.
