Director of Operations (Gateway Center)

Background:
Holland Rescue Mission's (HRM) vision and mission is to help people change their lives through the transformative power of the Gospel and practical aid. Since 1903, Holland Rescue Mission has been helping men, women, and children overcome homelessness for good. By offering proactive, interventive and Biblically-based programs and services in partnership with local churches transformed lives are characterized by spiritual growth, personal responsibility, and the adoption of a positive work ethic.

Holland Rescue Mission is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit ecclesiastical ministry operating under the direction of a volunteer Board of Directors elected from a broad cross-section of Christians in the community.

Gateway Center
The Gateway Center is a unique combination of ministry and business that combines program ministry with a retail/business center focusing on Christ-centered transformational programing with real-world business experience. The purpose of the program ministry is to change mindsets and lifestyles to promote successful communities and business enterprises through discipleship, life-skills and market-place vocational training.

Gateway Director
Seeking a Gateway Director to assist in fulfilling the purpose/mission of HRM by providing strategic oversight and administration of the Gateway Center and serve as a key member of the Senior Management Team which includes improving business operations to increase profitability to help fund all aspects of the Mission operations.

Education:
A Bachelor's degree in business or related field from an accredited college or university with some formal theological training; or, a degree in theology from an accredited college or university with formal business experience.

Skills & Abilities:
Ability to cast vision, motivate a team toward business and ministry goals

Ability to think critically in order to navigate business and spiritual issues on a daily basis.

Ability to assess opportunities and review current practices for continuous improvement.

Ability to make critical decisions as needed.

Ability to discern and act within a Biblical mind-set.

Solid written and oral communication skills.

Experience:
Proven managerial/leadership experience and success in private sector business with demonstrated business acumen.

Experience and a working knowledge of ministry to the poor.

Experience nurturing the spiritual development of new believers.

Personal Characteristics:
Fulfill all aspects of position job description according to the biblical principles and philosophy of ministry as defined by the Holland Rescue Mission Statement of Faith, Principles of Influence/Qualifications for Employment, Vision Statement, Mission Statement and Core Values.
