Director of Behavioral Services
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: This dynamic position will oversee case management and Mission Supportive Service programming in the Eugene Mission's main guest population, oversee the Eugene Mission's Life Change Program -- a 12-month Christ-centered residential relapse prevention program. Supervise and assign responsibilities to staff members, and ensure the proper performance and administration of all aspects of the programs.
Responsibilities/Tasks: *Develop goals for Life Change program and Supportive Services to achieve broader organization vision and achievement of these goals. *Hire, train and develop performance and schedules of assigned staff members. *Oversee development of curriculum and schedule of Life Change program. *Lead team in Life Change enrollment selection of potential candidates based on application and interview assessment. *Lead and oversee all activities and daily operations of the Life Change and supportive services educational programs. *Lead the Life Change and supportive services teams to attain key volunteers, teachers and mentors. *Oversee building use for two Life Change building(s) and supportive services wings, utilizing appropriate Life Change and supportive services staff to communicate issues to Director of Facilities and maintenance staff. *Represent the Eugene Mission, Life Change and supportive services programs at requested and self-initiated speaking engagements and events held by community organizations, agencies and churches. *Lead in providing crisis management of Life Change program members and the general guest population; providing support to staff in difficult situations. *Work within the community to optimize the image of the Mission and collaborate with other social service organizations as a Mission representative. *Teach classes, lead groups, give devotions and provide spiritual and recovery-based leadership to staff and Life Change program members. *As a member of the senior management, develop with strategic planning team overall Mission policies, program goals and objectives, examining outcomes to make adjustments as needed.
Education, Skills, and/or Work Experience Requirements: *Mature believer in Jesus Christ and ability to subscribe to the Eugene Mission's statement of faith *Strong leadership and management skills and experience *College degree required (Preferred emphasis: human services, counseling, social work) Master’s Degree preferred *CADC certification required; CADC II or III preferred *Genesis Curriculum training and experience preferred *Extensive experience leading a relapse recovery program required *Knowledge and experience dealing with the challenges of homelessness, poverty, mental illness *Independent worker who is also a team player *Strong organizational and administrative skills *Outstanding communication skills both verbal and written *Computer literate with experience in MS Office, especially *Word and Excel and Outlook *Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects *Ability to get along well with and have compassion for a diverse group of people *Ability to think through complex problems and arrive at solutions *Demonstrate humility, honesty, integrity *Valid Oregon Driver's license and clean driving record (ability to be covered by Mission vehicle insurance) Physical Requirements: *Ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time *Ability to walk campus and climb stairs *Ability to bend, push, pull *Ability to lift up to 30 lbs on occasion
