Citygate Network is excited to continue partnering with ARMS (Abuse Recovery Ministry Services) to present ManKind, a faith-based intervention program designed to promote healthy relationships.

The ManKind program is an abuse intervention co-led by both a male and a female leader. This program is designed to help men understand their own controlling and abusive behaviors while addressing the beliefs, views, and opinions that inform those actions. Course outcomes report that motivated participants have a recidivism rate of only 5% compared to the much larger national average.

ManKind Sessions Include:

  • Understanding Misuse of Power & Control
  • Learning to Love as Jesus Does
  • Types of Abuse & Respecting Boundaries
  • Socialization of Men & How it Plays into Violence
  • Costs of Choosing Domestic Abuse
  • Ripple Effects of Abusive Behavior
  • Believing in God-Given Value
  • Trusting God
  • Effects of Abuse on Women & Children
  • Understanding a Victim's Recovery Process
  • Pride vs. Humility
  • Conviction vs. Shame
I am grateful for the Mankind Training because it helped me to gain some new perspectives on my relationships with topics like the dynamics of power and control, learning how serving is to love like Jesus, and accountability, and much more. It's pretty cool to gain what I thought was tools for others but now also knowing some of the tools are for me too. ManKind truly benefits both the facilitator and the client. -J.W.
